It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a month since the Platinum Jubilee but our residents have experienced some diverse entertainment in the past few weeks. At Westbourne House, we were fortunate to be joined by Russell who entertained us with a range of hits from the likes of Elvis Presley. He is a fantastic singer whose upbeat set really got our toes tapping. We've also enjoyed getting back outside, with everything from crafts to hairdressing and manicures going alfresco this month
We’ve celebrated two big birthdays in the past week - Stephen marked turning 70 with a huge badge and lovely cake, while Sheila was joined by family members in the Northfield conservatory for a tea party to celebrate her 75th. Happy birthday to you both!
Remembering former residents
We were all very touched last week to receive cards, flowers and chocolates from family members of two former residents, Jesse and John. We are honoured to look after some wonderful people with fascinating stories to tell and have treasured memories of those who are no longer with us. Every single team member is dedicated to ensuring our residents are treated with dignity and respect and are made as comfortable as possible. To have this acknowledged in messages from family really makes our hearts sing - thank you.
Social Care Hero Awards
This week we have nominated another two talented team members for the Social Care Hero Awards. Senior carer, Simila, from Northfield who has recently been promoted and is a fantastic role model for our new starters, and ward clerk, Lynne, from Westbourne who always gives 100% and does everything in her power to ensure our residents enjoy their time with us. Well done Simila and Lynne and thank you for everything you do.
