Coronation Celebrations
What a wonderful few weeks it's been! As expected, we were all very excited about the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Activities in the run up to the big day included making crowns and flags, and our homes were transformed with red, white and blue decorations. Everyone got dressed up for the big day and we enjoyed lovely lunches with Buck's fizz and special cakes to celebrate the occasion.
It was great to watch the action live and our residents took the opportunity to compare events with the coronation of the late Queen as well as discussing how they had celebrated in 1953 and for the various jubilees since. It was a tiring, but thoroughly joyful occasion for us all.
Easter
With so much going on, it already feels like Easter was ages ago. We all enjoyed the long bank holiday weekend, with various activities including some truly spectacular Easter bonnets. Meanwhile, our Easter raffle at Northfield raised £167, so many thanks to everyone who got involved.
We were also very happy to celebrate our lovely resident May's 99th birthday with prosecco, balloons and cake over the Easter weekend.
Spring is sprung
With the warmer weather finally on the horizon, we are getting stuck in to all our Spring craft activities, including flower bunnies and button trees for our display boards. This week, we have been painting and decorating plant pots which will be planted up with some beautiful flowers for residents to enjoy over the coming weeks. We've got lots more in the pipeline, so keep an eye on social media to see what we're up to.
